The Star shining bright

On Christmas night

Was sent from above, filled with Hope and Light.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Christmas is a time of magic, a season of giving, and a moment to cherish our loved ones. And what better way to celebrate than with a zoom party!

I am Flora Scheck, founder of CWB, a non profit organization that truly took form because of a simple story of love and hope under the darkest days of war in Ukraine. My friendship with Sveta began with something as simple as a shared love of collies that to my surprise united a loving group of international collie owners and keeps growing.

Thank you for joining our little conversation today. Time is limited, I will be short to give a chance to whoever wants to say “Hi.” We are lucky to have Sasha with us today, he is Sveta’s son and he will help translate for our Ukrainian friends.

We invited you here today not just to celebrate the spirit of Christmas and say Happy Holidays, but to express how deeply grateful we are to all of you, a community of generous individuals who embody the true meaning of giving through their constant support to collies in need.

Your friendship is a special gift generously given, happily accepted and deeply appreciated.

Whatever happens in the world, during this time of year we try to celebrate. Gathering with friends and families illuminates our spirits and souls even during the darkest days and longest nights because kindness, love and unity are invincible.

I know as you followed us you shared in our heartbreaks and joyful moments. We laughed and cried together. Every single time we lifted each other up and that’s what we are all about. Together we accomplished miracles. This year we raised thousands of dollars that made a huge difference in the lives of 168 collies. We were thrilled to be able to help. Thank you 🙏🏻 thank you 🙏🏻

A very special thank you to Sveta to who I’m deeply grateful, she is the heart of our organization. I learned from her what courage, kindness and compassion is. We would not be here today without her.

I also want to express my sincere gratitude for my board members. Their dedication to CWB has been generously given, incredible hard work and we all jumped in with two feet and just learned by doing it.

Without them, it would’ve been mission impossible!

And to Iryna, Oleg and Helena - our creative Monthly Birthday Celebration Team- who created our most popular game that everyone enjoys participating in. We all love to see what fun things they come up with each month. 

A special thank you to all who were so creative to come up with fundraising ideas, donated wonderful items, created incredible pieces of art and helped us grow. I need a full day to call out every name. Every single one of you have a special place in our hearts.
